what I think should be done regarding this issue

I think that human trafficking needs to be stopped, but its not as simple as that. Human Trafficking is located in so many areas and the industry is so huge that you cant go up to a trafficker and say "you need to stop trafficking people" there not going to listen to you, and you will probably end up getting kidnapped. I think that if everyone gets more involved than we can actually stop this huge issue.

Consequences

Consequences of human trafficking are severe. Victims are physically and sexually abused, raped and assaulted, they also experience sexual and physical trauma, death or serious diseases and injuries, the spread of HIV and AID epidemics, alcohol and drug abuse/addiction, suicide or murder, mental/emotional problems, nightmares, insomnia and attempts of suicide, unwanted pregnancies and forced abortions.
This map identifies the trafficking of women in the world. Where it is legal and where it is not.

Importance to me

Human trafficking is illegal. It is important to me because know human being should have to suffer like this and nobody should be owned by another. Human trafficking is modern day slavery, people think slavery is gone because there are laws now to prevent it, but its not. Human trafficking is a multi million dollar industry. People all over the world are getting killed, raped, beaten, withheld from food, etc. all because they don't want to be in the situation that they are already in.

Human Trafficking is happening in almost every continent. It is mainly in poorer countries like cities in Cambodia, small towns in Moldova and rural parts of Brazil. Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka have all taken steps in the right direction and are trying to combat human trafficking.
Human Trafficking has been brought into more developed countries like the U.S. The highest child sex trafficking is happening mainly in Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. Human Trafficking is also happening in North Carolina, Las Vegas, Seattle and Philadelphia.
The consequences of human trafficking are physical & sexual abuse, rape & other physical assault, sexual & physical trauma, death & serious diseases/injuries, the spread of HIV's and AID's epidemic, alcohol and drug abuse/ addiction: suicide and murder, mental/ emotional problems: nightmares, insomnia & attempts of suicide, unwanted pregnancies & forced abortions.
The Average cost of a slave is $90 and there are 20-30 million slaves in the world. It draws huge profits channeled in international networks of organized crime. Also the hotline receives an average of 100 calls a day.
I feel that human trafficking is really wrong and needs to be changed!
